Equip- Creation to Crib

Over the last year or so I have felt a gentle push from God into the very alien world of writing and publishing- something which I have never thought of doing before.  In particular, in response to Ephesians 4:12- to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ.  Some of us are saints within families. Some of us are saints within couples.  Some of us are saints within a friendship group.  Some of us are crawling, some walking, some running- and some bedbound.  So how can we make sure that every single saint, each and every person of God, is equipped for ministry?

And so, the Equip project developed- a devotional series, with the aim of equipping all ages and stages of faith. Teaching a boisterous toddler who can’t sit still for more than 30 seconds, alongside a laid back, cup of tea drinking grandparent. Coming alongside a thoughtful introvert, whilst engaging a raving energetic extrovert.  Questions to challenge a Christian who knows their Bible better than the archbishop, as well as someone who goes to church occasionally when they’re dragged along.  Less a formula of do this, then this, then this, and more of a pick and mix to be adapted to the context, the person, and even the time of day.

The first one of the Equip is Creation to the Crib, a series of 25 advent reflections tracing the Christmas story all the way from- you’ve guessed it- creation to the crib.
